The Psychedelic Medicine Association is a society of healthcare professionals and key industry leaders dedicated to advancing education regarding the therapeutic uses of psychedelic medicines. Our mission is to educate clinicians on the front lines of patient care about what psychedelic treatment options currently exist and those that are coming soon, so that we can get these therapies to the patients who truly need them.
The scope of the association expands further to encompass many of the other areas that must be addressed to ensure access to psychedelic medicines. To this end, they have brought together founding members whose work is in research, policy, clinics/retreats, and drug development, among others, so that we can work toward ensuring equitable availability of these revolutionary therapies.
Our panel discussion will focus on identifying the hurdles to incorporating psychedelics in the current medical models as well as presenting potential solutions.
The topics we explore include:
- Education of primary care physicians on the basics of psychedelic medicines
- Overcoming the stigma so clinicians feel comfortable discussing psychedelics with patients
- Development of clinical practice guidelines
- How clinicians can legally discuss currently illegal substances
- How to get these medicines covered through health insurance
Membership will officially open on September 29th.
You can find the Psychedelic Medicine Association on Twitter at @Psychedelic_Med, LinkedIn and on Facebook.
