About |
I grew up in South Florida, attended Williams College in Massachusetts and then Emory University for medical school. I moved to Portland, OR for the OHSU Emergency Medicine Residency and worked in a busy community Emergency Department at Providence St. Vincent's for 18 years. I played college basketball, and now enjoy outdoor activities such as mountain biking, backpacking, paddle boarding and snowboarding. I am married with one daughter and play bass guitar in a band.

Experience |
After 21 years in the Emergency Department, I witnessed innumerable patients suffering from mental illness who were not being served by our current mental health system. I had been administering ketamine in the ER for procedural sedation throughout my career. When I learned how helpful it could be for mood disorders, I found additional training and explored the world of psychedelic medicine. When a mental health crisis hit my own family, I looked even further. This path led to my opening Cascade Psychedelic Medicine.
