Sharon has owned, directed and worked as a psychiatric clinician for Collaborative Psychiatric Associates since September 1995.  As practice owner and director, Sharon's focus is on a holistic and evidenced base approach to treating teens, adults, seniors, couples and families with complex mental health issues, couples issues, and/or medical issues.  Working collaboratively with family systems, psychiatrists, and primary care providers, Sharon approaches the issues of treatment by incorporating a whole system approach. Motivating patients to overcome obstacles to recovery from psychiatric and medical illnesses lead to the development of a pneumonic called MINDFUL CARE, where patients learn balance their lives through a collaborative treatment plan. As an psychiatric mental health practice owner she has developed an innovative patient centered program that has provided a wide milieu of therapies and methods that keep pace with vast science and evidence based practice in the psychiatric, mental and behavioral health. She directs a growing staff of clinicians and offices centered in various centers (Abington, Bala and Willow Grove) in Montgomery County, as well as actively engaging in expanding services directly to Patient Centered Medical Homes (primary care offices). As a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, she presents a balanced, holistic, and evidence based practice approach to stabilizing psychiatric issues.  Focusing on symptoms and understanding of underlying medical issues she assess and adapts patient needs through variety of psychopharmacology agents, vitamins, holistic modalities (exercise, mindfulness meditation, psychotherapy, etc.) and coordinates care with primary care providers. She has been an clinical educator for Drexel and Penn School of Nursing, as well as frequent presenter at national conferences focusing on integrated mental health and clinical practice issues.
